Recycling

We have been made aware of some of the practical difficulties involved in recycling certain materials. The Borough Council accept clean foil for recycling. However, it is very difficult for the machines that identify and separate the foil to deal with small pieces. It would help if foil could be amalgamated into larger balls/lumps. Also, shredded paper is of no value. Automated systems are unable to cope with it and there is too much of it to be composted; it would significantly degrade the compost. Shredded paper ends up being incinerated.
