Another major housing development?
The reason for the significant activity in the fields bounded by Hyde Lane and Swindon Lane and the railway has become clear. A developer has applied for an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening. The developer would like to build 750 dwellings and is asking the Borough Council whether, in its opinion, an EIA is necessary. This is not a planning application but clearly shows the intention for the future.
The developer's screening report anticipates a 16.8% increase in traffic along Wymans Lane.
