Heritage Days

For many years now cities and town across England have opened the doors of their historic buildings, once a year, for the benefit of the public. As part of this initiative Cheltenham Civic Society are organising a series of visits to important local sites of interest. The events take place between 10th and 13th September.

Our own Swindon Village Society are entering into the spirit of things. On Saturday 12th September at 2pm an illustrated talk on ‘The History of Swindon Village’ will be delivered in St Lawrence’s Church. This will be followed by a 40 minute walk around the centre of the village including the Hall and Manor grounds and this will be followed by tea back in the church. There will no charge except for tea but any money made will go to church funds.

Please come along and enjoy the afternoon.
