Parish and Borough Council Election 5th May 2022

Members of Swindon Parish Council are elected every four years. This year is an election year. There is also an election taking place for one of our two Borough Councillors.

Here is an outline of what needs to be done and the timetable.

| Candidates must ensure that they are (1) qualified to stand as a councillor and (2) not disqualified from standing | |
| Candidates must ensure that they and their proposer and seconder properly complete the nomination paperwork | |
| The completed candidate nomination form, the home address form and the consent to nomination form must be returned to Cheltenham Borough Council | 28th March to 5th April (by hand, not by post; I am happy to do this) |
| If there is to be a contested election, a briefing will be held at the Cheltenham Borough Council offices | 7th April |
| If there is to be a contested election, polling will take place at the Village Hall | 5th May |
| Candidates must submit a candidate declaration and spending return (election expenses) | 3rd June |
