James Cornish

Councillor James Cornish has lived in the parish since 2017 with his wife Zara. He joined the parish council in 2018, where he took the lead on many projects, and he was elected chair of the council in 2022.
James is a physicist by training and an engineer by practise, his work is out of this world working for a space business. James also guest lectures and mentors at Lancaster University. Outside of work he is a keen walker, swimmer and bookworm – loving science fiction and politics.
James joined the council because he wanted to make a difference locally as well as make friends in a new town. He is really proud of the role the council and local volunteers played supporting vulnerable households during the pandemic.
