By law members of the press and public must be permitted to observe the proceedings of council meetings. There have again been reports locally of people experiencing unpleasant odours. The suspicion is that the culprit is either the Wingmoor Farm land fill site or the Brockhampton sewage treatment works. It is important that these problems are reported to the Environment Agency by calling 0800 807060. The EA can collate the information and investigate the cause.

On my walk today it was very disappointing to see that our new bench in the Amenity Area off Manor Road has already attracted graffiti.

The government has published a leaflet summarising what we should all be doing (and not doing) to slow the spread of coronavirus.

The law has been temporarily changed to allow parish council meetings to be conducted by audio or video link with participants not in the same physical location. NALC guidance has been issued.

The NHS has published some very useful advice about maintaining mental and emotional wellbeing during the present difficulties.

The government is asking everyone not to drive unless absolutely necessary. People can no longer use the car parks at the park. Pedestrians (and their dogs) are welcome to exercise.
